Uplifting music and courage in war
05 July 2014
Thank you once again to Lauren MacColl for organising the Black Isle Fiddle weekend and for filling the East Church with glorious music.
This year's concert was performed by Bethany and Jenna Reid, James Thomson, Joe Rattray and Iain Sandilands and included 'The Shetland Bus' a composition, with narrator Phil Goodlad, that tells the incredible story of Jan Baalsrud and his escape from Germans across arctic Norway. An escape that included three weeks in a snow hole, when he had to cut off nine of his frostbitten toes.
